Headaches. Great pain in head, frequently happened to every people. When getting in a headaches, several areas of the head can hurt, including a network of nerves which extend over the scalp and certain nerves in the face, mouth, and throat.

Some headache subtypes are characterized by a specific pattern of symptoms, and no further testing may be necessary, while others may prompt further diagnostic tests. The most important step in diagnosing a headache is for the physician to take a careful history and to examine the patient. How to treat this pain, actually?

Well, to know the cure, we must firstly know the kind of headaches we have, for it is various according to the area affected, etc.

1). Tension headaches Tension headaches, the most common type, feel like a constant ache or pressure around the head, especially at the temples or back of the head and neck. Over-the-counter treatments, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen (Tylenol), are usually sufficient to treat tension headaches.

2). Cluster headaches Cluster headaches, which affect men more often than women, are recurring headaches that occur in groups or cycles. There is no cure to this, but medications such as Verapamil or Lithium can reduce the frequency and duration of attacks.

3). Sinus headaches Headaches due to sinus infection can be treated with antibiotics, as well as antihistamines or decongestants.

4). Rebound headaches Overuse of painkillers for headaches can, ironically, lead to rebound headaches. The most effective treatment is to slowly wean yourself off headache medicines - especially pain killers. Even better is prevention: do not use any acute headache medicine more than ten days per month.

5). Migraine headaches Mild migraines may respond to over the counter medicines like ibuprofen or naproxen, or acetaminophen. For more severe migraines a prescription medicine may be required.
