The word “Aromatherapy” can be divided into two words, “aroma” meaning fragrance and “therapy” meaning treatment. It is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile liquid plant materials, which is known as essential oils (EOs), and other scented compounds from plants for the purpose of affecting a person’s mood or health.
Aromatherapy is reputed to be at least 6000 years old and was used by the ancient civilizations of India, Egypt and China. Lately, aromatherapy has been known as a generic term that refers to any of the various traditions. It uses essential oils sometimes in combination with other alternative medical practices and spiritual beliefs. And you know what? It is very useful in a number of areas like physical and mental pains and several diseases. One of its benefits is reducing stress. It was evident that some kind of aromatherapy evoked some pleasant memories or created some physiological response due to which the anxiety was reduced. Aromatherapy reduces muscular aches and pains. It also increases muscle relaxation and tone, that’s why our blood pressure and stress level can be reduced.
So, there is no matter if we prepare some aromatherapy things in your room. Whether it is a candle or oil, they are both very useful. Just in case, you never know when you’ll need it :-P
